Hive Tyrants are more than just monstrous bioforms — they are fearsome leaders, combining instinctive savagery with strategic intelligence. Each one moves with lethal purpose, every claw and weapon perfectly evolved to tear apart enemies and guide lesser Tyranids to devastating effect. On the battlefield, their presence commands respect and fear alike.
Towering with chitinous armor adorned by sinister chimneys, the Hive Tyrant’s snarling visage and skeletal undercarriage mark it as a predator born to dominate. Versatile in combat, it wields a terrifying arsenal — from razor-sharp scything talons and the heavy venom cannon’s deadly spray, to the crushing power of the stranglethorn cannon and the vicious lash whip. Its body is a terrifying canvas of deadly biomorph adaptations: adrenal glands for bursts of speed, toxin sacs for vicious attacks, and more.
This creature can take to the skies as the Winged Hive Tyrant, swooping over foes with lethal grace, or become the legendary Swarmlord, a nightmare made flesh whose cunning rivals even the Hive Mind itself.
Every Hive Tyrant is a living embodiment of the Tyranid will: unstoppable, merciless, and utterly alien.

Hive Tyrants enact the Hive Mind’s will on the battlefield, as the massive commanders of the Tyranid swarm. Powerful warrior organisms in their own right, each Hive Tyrant is also possessed of a depth of sentient autonomy and strategic cunning that makes them truly deadly foes. Every part of their body is perfectly sculpted to maim, kill, and consume – and guide lesser bioforms in doing the same.
This multipart plastic kit builds one Hive Tyrant, an impressive and incredibly versatile leader-beast that can be built to take on a variety of battlefield roles. This looming creature is a fitting centrepiece for any Tyranid army – it boasts a distinctive chitinous shell studded with chimneys, a snarling head with a cruel horn, and a hideous skeletal underbody. The kit features a huge variety of weapons options, including two scything talons, a heavy venom cannon, a stranglethorn cannon, and a bonesword and a lash whip – as well as biomorphs like adrenal glands and toxin sacs, plus other components for customising your Hive Tyrant. You can also choose to build this kit as flying Winged Hive Tyrant, or the insidious Swarmlord.
This set comprises 59 plastic components and is supplied with a Citadel 60mm Round Base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.
